Hello al,

When I put a folder into "thumbnails" mode (and on "auto arrange") and
rename a file it stays where it is, and I cannot find a key combination to
force the folder to resort its contents. I always have to switch to "list"
mode, press F5 and switch back.

Does anyone know how to get a folder in "thumbnails", "auto arrange" mode to
re-sort itself ?

By the way: is there a key combination to switch between a folders display
modi ?

You might take that as a strong suggestion that just pressing F5 was the
first thing I tried.

LOL! You are correct. I had the same problem with XP and since it has been a while, i don't quite
remember but it was solved.
